Since I am feeling a little tired and overwhelmed today because I have tons of things to do (probably without a shower) today I thought I would count a few blessings to get my day started.
1. My family.
2. A baby that is so darn cute I can't stand it sometimes.
3. A husband who tells me I am beautiful even though half the time when he gets home I am still in my pajamas and dinner is usually not finished.
4. Naps....when Hazel lets me get one.
5. Again a Husband who at 2 am wakes up, notices I am exhausted, and offers to take the baby so I can lay down and sleep. I LOVE HIM
6. Friends.
7. Exercise. Some friends of mine walked a couple of miles yesterday in Colonial Williamsburg. It was great to be active again, but man I am out of shape. ( We are going again today if I don't fall asleep first)
8. Dishwashers.
9. Noise Machines. It helps Hazel sleep better and Justin and I because we can't hear every little whimper and wine.
10. Showers. Sometimes they seem impossible to get everyday, but boy oh boy I feel like a million buck when I get it.
I am a very blessed girl with so much to be grateful for. I feel better about this day already!! Bring it on!!
Hang in there Nancy. (and welcome to motherhood.)
ReplyDeleteThings get easier. I am sorry that you are so tired. I hope you get a nap today!! HAyden said he can't wait to see Hazel at Granny's. And that's how we all feel. Thank goodness for this blog! we can get a peek at her. Tell Justin he's the man! What an excellent father and hubby. But He's the lucky one. He has you!!! miss you.
That is a really good list. I especially appreciate "noise makers." Our friends introduced us to this one from Homedic (sp?) and we were hooked... best $20 I've spent at Wal-Mart in a long time!
ReplyDeleteDo not worry pretty soon you will not even remember the days of no sleep and crying. I would add washing machines and dryers to my list. I got the invite to the annual shaw family BBQ. I am so ready to get my hands on little Hazel. My future daughter in law. I can not wait to see you either. Tell Justin I said thanks for taking such good care of you and Hazel. Hubbys are great! Love Ya!
ReplyDeleteNancy even now, with my baby being one, I still get in the shower and think "Oh glorious streams of clean, warm water...how I love you!" LOL :) Nothing is better than a hot shower after long hours of mommy duty. I am still guilty of staying in my pjs many days and when Ravi gets home he says things to me like you're beautiful...we got us some keepers! Sorry the formula thing has been so rough :( I know you're doing great and Mandi is right these days will seem a distant memory before you know it. The first 3 months were really rough for me, but finally one day I looked down at her and knew I could do it and every day has been better and better :)
ReplyDeleteNancy, you gotta give that baby's body some tie to adjust to all those formula changes!! It will take at least a week every time you change for her tiny body to get used to it! I hope the soy is working out well for you guys. Let me know if you keep her on it, I have lots of mini-cans I will gladly give you! I'm just now getting a chance to catch up on the blog reading. Night time routine sounds fabulous! How are the daytime naps working out?? And YAY for more pictures! Hazel is such a little doll, I just love looking at her pictures! :) I'll call you soon!
