Thank you Vera!!

It has been a while since I have had time to sit down and share with everyone about what has been going on with our little family. Life has been very busy!! I was able to spend about 2 weeks with my family back home in Florida and had a blast (lots of posts will come about that in the near future.) Since I have been home we have been busy too. Justin is working so hard with school, he has finals coming up soon, along with his Note draft due at the end of this month. (Note - meaning a very long and complicated paper he has been working on all semester) We have also been working on getting Hazel's room together. I personally have been really stressing out trying to make sure that is everything is ready for her...... Justin has been such a sport helping me with things and doing some last minute shopping for the nursery.

Well, that is were my heart felt thanks comes to Vera. Vera is a 5 week old girl that our friends Carl and Anna just welcomed into their family. Anna called me on Sunday and asked if I would be willing to watch Vera for about an hour while she went to the dentist. I very willingly agreed!! I do after all love me some babies and the opportunity to help others. For about hour and a 1/2 life stood still. Her needs were all the mattered and I had a eye opening experience that babies don't really need much. Yeah, they need diapers and clothes to keep them warm, but they don't need the closets to be cleaned out, pretty pictures hung on the walls, or most of the other things that I have been stressing over before she gets here. I know that life will be easier and maybe run a little smoother, but not necessary to bring her home. All we really need is each other, love, some basic items including a car seat (they won't let you leave the hospital without one) We thankfully have all of those things so if the rest gets done great, but if not it doesn't change the fact that in about 6 more weeks we will be parents of a sweet baby girl.

Tonight Justin and I have just enjoyed a quiet night at home. We made dinner together, watched 2 episodes of Lost, enjoyed a bowl of ice cream, and now he is learning a new song on his guitar for Hazel while I get to listen to him and blog about our fantastic little family.

We are very blessed to have each other. We are still in awe sometimes of how happy we make each other. It is still had to believe that I have the greatest husband and now together will soon be parents. Justin is making all my dreams come true!!!!

  1. That was so sweet and so true. Babies really do just need a few basics, lots of love, and lots of time. And you guys are going to give her those things without any trouble at all! You two are going to be terrific parents!

  3. I love you Nancy!!! I also love you, Justin for giving Nancy everything she deserves and has always wanted. Yeah, for the Sorrells! Hazel is really going to be a very lucky gal with 2 parents like you both. It is true, both my babies I go crazy the last couple of weeks doing all sorts of crazy things.... with Abigail, Aaron came home from work and I was cleaning/ scrubbing the top of the fridge. I am sure did not notice when we brought her home but it was clean! Go enjoy each other instead of cleaning closets it will be the last time you will have the chance for a long time. I love you and I am thrilled you are so happy and in love!!!
