Thanksgiving Sorrell Style

We were home bound this Thanksgiving since our Hazel prohibits traveling. So we took this as our chance to establish some of our family traditions that were most important to us.

Our friends Jason and Melissa Howell invited us to join them and their family for Thanksgiving. We thankfully accepted and offered to help where we could. We brought a Cranberry Salad and Apple Pie.

Justin's Traditions - Cranberry Salad

Cranberry Salad is something that Justin would eat at Grandmom's house and he loves it. We were talking one day about essential items that must be on a Thanksgiving table, and this was it for Justin. We worked together to make it just like Grandmom's. I have never even had hers before, but to hear Justin talk about it in such detail I feel like we did a pretty good job. Everyone really enjoyed it. Comments included, "This is the best Cranberry Salad I have ever had" and "Is this a secret family recipe because I would really like to have it?"

This is Justin with his masterpiece

Nancy's new tradition - Apple Pie

My family has lots of things for Thanksgiving, but to be honest I couldn't pick just one that I loved more then the rest. So I had just decided to make an Apple Pie to take. Justin and I worked together to make this creation. He was in charge of the crust (that boy is great with pastries) and I was in charge of the filling.

Here I am with my creation.

Once we got to the Howell's home we had the opportunity to deliver some food to the Taylor's, who are other friends of ours, who were unfortunately sick and couldn't come. We hope they are feeling better!!

This is us on our food run. We were Thankful to be able to provide a little bit of service that day.

Okay, and per request from Aunt Terri here is an updated pregnancy photo of me and Hazel.

And here is one of Justin and his baby Jacob........

Thanksgiving Day - Part Two

We were blessed to have the whole day to do what ever we wanted. So we were determined since we wouldn't be cooking all day or doing school work that we would work hard to finish Hazel's room. Which we did!!!!!

Justin painted the dresser, since bending over just isn't my friend like it use to be. It was his first time painting furniture and he did a great job.

Here is the finished product...... hope you like it, because we sure do!!!!

Do you think she has enough clothes?

Do you see that green caterpillar? I got that for $.51 at Target the day after I went to a couponing class.

And Chris to you see who is riding that Choo Choo Train? That's right it is the ugliest baby doll you have ever seen. I have displayed them both with pride in her room.

We missed our families this Thanksgiving and look forward to joining you next year with Hazel in tow.
