We are now living on a budget. I know it seems like we would have been living on a budget the whole time Justin was in school, and we did, but it's never quite so real as when you receive bi-weekly paychecks versus large student loan lump sums.
Anyway, we've gotten creative about furnishing our house. We saw this great cabinet down the road from our house that someone was throwing/giving away. We tried to fit it into Becky's car, then our car, but to no avail. Finally, after stepping on everything we own that rolls in search of something to roll it down the street, we finally decided to take Hazel's pull trailer for bike rides. It worked! And now we own a lovely new cabinet that we're going to use to put our TV on.
A quote from the president of our church, President Monson:
"If you are concerned about providing financially for a wife and family, may I assure you that there is no shame in a couple having to scrimp and save. It is generally during these challenging times that you will grow closer together as you learn to sacrifice and to make difficult decisions. Perhaps you are afraid of making the wrong choice. To this I say that you need to exercise faith. Find someone with whom you can be compatible. Realize that you will not be able to anticipate every challenge which may arise, but be assured that almost anything can be worked out if you are resourceful and if you are committed to making your marriage work."
